What will you do at Wilkes? We’re a small university, with big opportunities located in Wilkes-Barre, Northeastern PA, about a 2 hour ride from NYC and Philly. We have about 2,500 undergraduate students on campus, so classmates know each other, and their professors, by name. Founded in 1933, Wilkes University is a private, co-ed, comprehensive institution. We have 23 athletic teams and are a Division III school. Our campus involvement is robust with a long list of clubs and academic organizations, so that students can get involved from the minute they step foot on campus. Clubs range from academic-focused to purely interest-based.Additionally, our students have the opportunity to get involved in faculty-led research; some research programs can begin in a student’s first year! This research is unique to Wilkes because many institutions don’t allow undergraduates to work alongside faculty mentors to complete research; those opportunities are usually reserved for graduate students.
